The Northeast Kingdom School Development Center (NEKSDC) was created in January 2001 as a partnership among the nine supervisory unions in northeastern Vermont.

 

The NEKSDC is the Educational Service Agency for Northeastern Vermont designed to share the resources, talents, and expertise for the purpose of improving instruction in all regional classrooms and to meet the needs identified by the members.

 

The Center serves as a professional development clearinghouse, providing teachers, administrators, and para educators with services that include:

  • Mentoring
  • Modeling
  • Professional Networking
  • Professional Development opportunities: (workshops and graduate courses) focus on Content Knowledge, Best Instructional Practices, Assessment, Evaluation, and Effective Use of Data Planning.

Eric JensenEric Jensen began his teaching career as a middle school English teacher in San Diego, CA. Most of his classroom experience is with middle school students; however, he has taught at every level including the university level. His love of learning has been a lifelong passion. Eric’s academic background is in English, and he is currently completing his PhD. in human development. He is an active member of the society of Neuroscience and the New York Academy of Sciences. Eric co-founded the first international brain-compatible learning program in 1982, which now has over 50,000 graduates. In addition, Eric has authored 26 books on the brain and learning, including Teaching with Poverty in Mind, Teaching with the Brain in Mind, and Enriching the Brain.
